What Makes Vaughan Great?

July 1, 2020 by admin

The city of Vaughan, located north of Toronto, is a thriving and vibrant region that an increasing number of young families and professionals are moving to. Maple, Woodbridge and Kleinburg are the communities where many larger detached homes are present. Thornhill is the densest part of Vaughan with many older houses that make up the real estate supply. Vaughan has a large manufacturing and industrial base (Concord which is the industrial district) which has created jobs which in turn has helped attract many new residents (approx. 306,000) to this city. The top three ethnic groups are Italian 31.1%, Russian 8.4% and Canadian 8.0%. Visible minorities make up 35.4% of the population.

Property and Home Types

Vaughan real estate offers something for just about everyone. Detached family homes are still relatively affordable when compared to other parts of the Greater Toronto Area. That may not last long, as prices are also increasing at a greater rate as well.

If condo living is your thing, check out the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre which is in construction is a master planned community with one of the biggest mixed commercial-residential projects in Canada. Condos include those in Transit City 1 and 2 (100 New Park Place) and Nord West and East (2908 Hwy 7 Rd).

Neighbourhood Specialities

In the summer months, you should plan to attend Canada’s Wonderland. Vaughan is also home to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Reptilia Zoo and the Vaughan Mills shopping mall. The Boyd Conservation Area and Kortright Centre for Conservation are also in Vaughan territory.

Vaughan has always been known for 2 things: Canada’s Wonderland and Vaughan Mills regional outlet mall. The growing presence of the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is a great sign of things to come for the city. Investors and residents alike will all benefit from the investments and prosperity that is coming into the city. That in turn leads to even more new people moving into the area, attracting more great shops, top-notch restaurants and more.

Transportation

The Vaughan metro station came with a lot of anticipation and fanfare, and anchors the new upcoming downtown Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. The Vaughan subway station line runs straight down to Toronto’s’ downtown core in 45 minutes.

Future Outlook

It’s hard to talk about Vaughan without mentioning the visionary Vaughan Metropolitan Centre project, the investment and construction that is happening right now and into the near future. The plan is to give Vaughan a downtown core with high density urban living (ie: high-rise condos and townhomes) together with entertainment venues, a hotel, parks and easy access to public transit; starting with the subway station.
